The motorbike ride took place on Sunday 3 June 2018 and was dedicated to Jean-Baptiste, a young boy born in 2003, who lives in Plourin-les-Morlaix (29). He suffers from periventricular leukomalacia.
This disease, which can affect children born prematurely, corresponds to a type of brain lesion that causes the death of small areas of tissue in the ventricles. The damage causes irreversible 'holes' in the brain. For Jean-Baptiste, this has consequences for bone and muscle growth, pain, surgery, rehabilitation, etc. In addition, there are problems with dyscalculia and partial hemiplegia of the right arm.
Jean-Baptiste wanted to be able to practice his passion, basketball.
Thanks to the generosity of 356 bikers, a specially adapted wheelchair could be financed for 3926 €.
The Boulinerien came to sing beautiful sea songs.
Karl Halby then provided a warm musical accompaniment where blues fans nodded their heads in rhythm and the Pin-up girls from Brittany added a deliciously retro charm.
Our young sportsman is now playing in a handisport basketball team...
